How does this product work?
- Pick a car from our great range of vehicles based on your needs and lifestyle
- Complete your application and leasing documentation (This includes an agreement between you, your employer and the financier) and once approved you’re away with our contactless handover.
- Simply drive the car for three months within your selected kilometres, with the option to continue leasing day by day after that if you wish, all the way up to 18 months. The payment will be automatically collected from your pay.
- Insurance and usual maintenance costs are calculated based on your nominated kilometres and are all included in your regular payment using some of your before-tax salary, which may reduce your taxable income.
- You can also salary package additional funds for fuel and use the Maxxia app to claim all your fuel costs as you go, potentially reducing your taxable income even further.
- When you’re done with the car just let us know!
What happens if I terminate my lease before the three-month minimum is over?
If you need to finish your lease early due to unforeseen circumstances, there are no additional fees from us. However, due to the nature of salary packaging, there will be some additional payments needed to cover the early termination, our consultants can explain how this works.
What does my regular payment include?
Your monthly payment covers the cost of running the car including registration/CTP, comprehensive insurance, usual maintenance, tyres and roadside assistance. The payment is deducted from your income each pay cycle and varies based on the kilometres you select to travel each month (1,000 low, 2,000 medium, 3,000 high). How long can I have a car?
An initial period of three months applies, then if you like you can continue to lease the car day by day, like a subscription-based product. We have a maximum limit of 18 months with the car including the initial three months and any extension after. This is so we can frequently update and refresh our fleet to ensure a high standard of vehicle for our customers.
What if I want to stop my lease?
If you wish to stop your lease, please call Maxxia on 1300 123 123.
What type of cars are there?
Choose from a variety of small, medium or large vehicles as well as a range of compact and medium SUV options.
Can my friend/partner/child drive the car?
Yes, so long as the driver is fully licensed to operate and drive the vehicle in Australia. However, if they have an accident additional insurance excess may apply please refer to the Insurance PDS.
Can I lease a new car?
No, the cars available for short-term leasing are used cars, though they are generally no more than five years old. You can always lease a new car via a fully maintained novated lease, just ask your consultant about this option.
What is the post-tax contribution for?
The post-tax contribution is there to offset the Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) that must be paid on your lease, rather than your employer paying the FBT amount to the ATO directly, you offset it by using your taxed income for a portion of your monthly payment.
What’s the difference between pre and post-tax?
The post-tax contribution is there to offset the Fringe Benefit Tax your employer must pay on your lease, while the pre-tax is deducted from your gross pay, so you’re taxed on a smaller amount.
What is FBT?
Fringe Benefit Tax or FBT is the tax applied to any benefit other than money provided to you by your employer – such as a novated lease, housing allowance, medical assistance and many salary packaging benefits.
Is there a kilometre limit?
- You will be required to select a kilometre range when you set up the lease of 1,000km, 2,000km or 3,000km per month. The total kilometres driven at the end of your lease must then not exceed this nominated monthly range.
- So, if you are leasing a car for three months and you nominate your kilometre range as 1,000km per month, you must not have exceeded 3,000km in total when you hand the car back.
- Additional charges will apply for each kilometre that exceeds your nominated range at 19c/km. If you think you will be travelling more or less kilometres than you initially selected, simply call Maxxia on 1300 123 123 and adjust your kilometres, this will avoid any excess charges when you hand back the car.
I need to change my kilometres, what do I do?
Call Maxxia on 1300 123 123 they will need to adjust the budgets based on the change of kilometres nominated. This will also ensure no additional charges when you hand the car back.
Where do I pick the car up?
Cars will be available for pick up at Just Honk at 4-6 Fitzgerald Road, Laverton North Victoria 3026. Upon pick up/delivery you will receive a comprehensive driver guide, details of the GPS/telematics installed in your vehicle. You will also be required to complete a vehicle inspection/condition report Is the car cleaned before I pick it up? Yes, measures we have implemented include our team using gloves and antibacterial wipes to clean the touchpoints of each vehicle. "
Where do I drop my car off?
- Please call Maxxia on 1300 123 123 and arrange a date and time for vehicle return.
- Due to the current stage four restrictions in Victoria we are currently offering to pick up the vehicle from your home or workplace.
- A full inspection of the vehicle will then take place and a quote for any payable amount for damages, excess kilometres and excess days will be provided to you.
Can I swap my car?
- Yes, you can swap your car after the initial 3 months.
- Just call Interleasing and they’ll take you through the process of starting another lease on the new vehicle and the available options.
What happens if I have an accident or damage the car?
- You will need to call Allianz on 1300 40 20 30 or lodge an online claim here and quote the car’s registration number, your name and policy number 75 INTERLE GFL
- Completing your online claim form is quicker if you have these details at hand before you start
- Information about the incident, such as the date, where the damage occurred, any other people, vehicles or property involved.
- Supporting documents or images to upload (if available).
- Once you have submitted your claim, we will get back to you within 3 business days with next steps.
- Allianz will look after the entire claims process including arranging a replacement car if needed.
- If there is an excess, you will pay the excess to Allianz.

- In the event that your car is written off in the accident, Allianz will contact Interleasing and we will be in touch with you to replace your vehicle with a similar make and model.
What is my insurance excess?
- In the event that you are at fault in the accident, the insurance excess will be payable to Allianz directly.

What happens if my tyres need replacing?
- In the unlikely event your tyres need replacing simply book the vehicle in at your nearest authorised service outlet and let them know the vehicle is managed by Interleasing. Interleasing will then organise the replacement with the provider.

What happens if my windscreen is damaged or needs replacing?

What happens if the car breaks down/flat tyre?
- Simply call Interleasing on 1800 004 588 and select option 2 “Roadside Assist”.
My car needs a service what do I do?
- We try to ensure that all our vehicles are fully serviced before each lease, however if you believe work is required please give Interleasing a call on 1800 004 588.
- If routine/usual servicing is due, as part of the terms of this product the driver must make the vehicle available for servicing with a service provider recommended by Interleasing. This in the first instance will be the vehicle manufacturer’s most convenient dealership to you and will occur when the service interval is due.
- You must immediately inform Interleasing and follow the vehicle’s owner's manual if:
- A warning light or fault message appears
- Become aware of low engine or brake oils, engine coolant levels or tyre pressures
- The vehicle develops any fault during the Lease
Who covers fines and tolls?
- You are required to pay the cost of tolls and all infringements (eg. parking fines, speeding fines, red light camera fines).
- If Interleasing receives infringements, tolls and other fine notices for the vehicle for the period within the lease, Interleasing will issue a statutory declaration to nominate the driver.
Do you cover cleaning? Can I claim for my car washes?
Yes, car washes can be claimed via the Maxxia app so long as you include a budget for it when you set up your short-term lease, speak to your Maxxia consultant for more information.
Can I have a car if I have an international drivers licence?
Yes, provided you are a resident of Australia and legally allowed to drive car in Australia.
Can I lease multiple cars?
Multiple cars can be leased subject to individual circumstances and appropriate credit assessment.

Can I have a car if I am a casual employee?
Unfortunately, casual employees are unable to access this product as one of the criteria for a short-term lease is a consistent regular income. It is also subject to your employer's agreement with Maxxia, which may include other restrictions.
Can I package a car if I am on a short-term contract?
Yes, subject to your contract length and proposed lease term, short-term contract employees may be eligible. Eligibility is also subject to your employer's agreement with Maxxia, which may include other restrictions.
Do I have to earn a certain amount to be able to get a car?
No specific restriction applies but you will have to satisfy our credit assessment.
What does the application/approval process entail?
- To begin a Maxxia short-term lease, you will be required to:
- Complete your application and leasing documents (This includes an agreement between you, your employer and the financier).
- Provide us with a copy of a recent payslip and a copy of your driver's license.
- Interleasing will then complete a credit check and assess the information provided to determine if approval is granted.
- Interleasing will review and provide a response within 72 business hours.
Is there a credit check involved?
Yes, we will need to complete a credit assessment and we will need a copy of your driver's licence and a recent payslip for this purpose.
How do I claim for petrol?
- You can claim for fuel whenever you like, wherever you are using the Maxxia app.
- Before making a claim please ensure you have organised for the amount you are claiming to be requested from your pay. To organise this call Maxxia on 1300 123 123.

Can I do a short-term lease instead of a fully maintained novated lease?
- Absolutely, for short-term contracts or if you just need a car just to get around for a few months a short-term lease is a great option to consider.
- If you need a longer-term option a fully maintained novated lease may be the way to go.
- A fully maintained novated lease includes additional features, such as:
- Lease a new, used or your existing car, with more choice when it comes to make and model.
- Novated Lease terms from 1 –5 years.

Why is there a maximum amount of time I can have the car?
- We have a limit of 18 months because we want to ensure our vehicles are refreshed frequently to provide a quality fleet of cars for our customers.
- There may be instances after the initial 3 months and prior to the 18th month that Interleasing may request to refresh the vehicle earlier, we’ll let you know.
What happens at the end of my lease?
As you near the end of your lease period we will be in touch to discuss your options or organise the collection of the vehicle.
When do my contributions start?
Maxxia will provide a ‘Your Benefit Summary’ email with a full breakdown of your contribution amount and when they will start.
How long is the lease term?
The basic lease term is three months, extendable on a daily basis. The maximum time you can have the same car is 18 months in total.
Does this impact any other of my salary packaging benefits?
No, this is a concessionally taxed vehicle as long as you keep it for 3 months and its use will not impact other salary packaging items.
Is this product only available in Victoria?
Yes, at this stage it is only Victorian employers who have a contractual relationship with Maxxia who can offer this product to their employees, however there are plans to expand to other states in Australia.
How do I know when the car will be delivered?
We’ll call you to let you know.
Can I nominate a date and time for the delivery of the car?
You’ll be provided with a delivery window for when the transport company will deliver the car. We’ll also provide an update once your car is on its way and we’ll let you know if anything changes.
Will the delivery driver contact me directly? Can I provide instructions?
Your delivery driver will come directly to your door and you’ll be required to fill out a vehicle delivery report.
Do I need to show any ID when receiving the car from the delivery driver?
The individual receiving the vehicle may be required provide identification, please ensure this is available if requested.
How do I get my keys?
The keys to your car will be sterilised and handed to you by the delivery driver.
Will the delivery person take me through the features of the car?
If you require assistance in operating the car, please call Interleasing 1800 004 588 for further instructions.
What happens if it’s not the right car or there are any other issues? Who do I call?
Call your Maxxia sales consultant directly or on 1300 123 123 if there are any issues.
What happens if the car arrives at my work/home and I’m not there?
Your delivery driver will wait 30 minutes, if we need to re-deliver the vehicle, you may be charged for additional transportation costs.
Can someone else sign for the car?
While you must sign the documentation, handover of the car can be designated to another individual provided they are fully licensed.
What if I need to reschedule my delivery?
Vehicle delivery can be rescheduled 24 hours before the scheduled delivery date, before 9am the business day prior to delivery.
Is the car cleaned before being delivered?
Yes, measures we have implemented include our drivers using gloves and antibacterial wipes to clean the touchpoints of each vehicle. In addition to all those mandatory measures, we have introduced high quality seat and steering wheel covers when you use our covered transport service.
