What happens in Phase 2 of the EV Discount update?
Phase 2 starts on 1 April 2027. From this date, the EV Discount will be more closely targeted based on the price of the vehicle.
- Electric vehicles priced under $75,000 will continue to receive a full Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption.
- Electric vehicles priced between $75,000 and the luxury car tax (LCT) threshold of $91,387 will be eligible for a reduced 25% FBT discount.
